11th CTSEM conference 2025

Transportation systems play a vital role in the growth and development of economies. Reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable modes facilitate the rapid movement of people and goods, both within and between countries. Given the ubiquitous nature of transportation systems and the crucial role they play in people's lives, the problems associated with these systems must be promptly addressed by the scientific community. These challenges are particularly pronounced in urban areas.

Growing urbanization, rising vehicle ownership, globalization of economies, and shortage of resources have posed major challenges to the transportation sector. Mobility, accessibility, and safety continue to be daunting challenges for transportation professionals worldwide. In this context, cutting-edge research that could provide sustainable solutions to transport-related problems is the need of the hour.

The 11th Conference on Transportation Systems Engineering and Management (CTSEM2025) aims to bring together researchers, academicians, and engineers from different areas of Transportation Engineering and Management. The objectives of this 11th CTSEM are to provide an opportunity for students, research scholars, academicians, scientists, and transportation professionals to present their work exchange ideas, network with peers; learn about advancements and applications in their fields; minimize the duplication of research efforts and thus arrive at future directions for research.

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) is one of the leading institutions of national importance in technical education. Established with the objective of developing a ‘Centre of Excellence in Central India, it aims at becoming a multi-disciplinary centre for technical education by strengthening both teaching and research activities besides contributing to the needs of rural community, society and industry at large. The Institute is located on a plateau of about 650 acres in the midst of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. The Institute, formerly known as Maulana Azad College of Technology, was established in 1960 as one of the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) in the country. In June 2002, it was elevated to the status of a Deemed University and renamed as Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology and achieved the status of ‘Institution of National Importance’ by the Parliamentary NITSER Act 2007. MANIT offers Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral programmes in Architecture, Planning, Engineering, Sciences, Computer Application, and Management.

Civil Engineering Department

Department of Civil Engineering is a pioneering department of the Institute. Over the years, the department has progressed at rapid pace with development in the spheres of infrastructure facilities and academic programs. The department has experienced faculty, well-equipped laboratories in allied specialization fields. The aim of the department is to attain the status of leading world-class centres for teaching and research, responsive to changing needs of industry with emphasis on innovation, technological development, entrepreneurial and leadership competencies, professional and human values and socioeconomic uplifting of the community.

Conference Fees
  • Registration fee for authors/delegates covers a conference kit, lunch, high tea, and access to the cultural evening with gala dinner.The registration fee for the conference for participants from India and for participants outside India is as follows. The early bird discounted fee will be applicable till 17 June 2025.
  • The registration fee is inclusive of GST.
  • Registration fees does not cover accommodation charges.
  • Fee for accompanying person is Rs. 2000/- (inclusive of GST).
  • The accompanying person fee covers access to all conference sessions, lunch, high tea, and access to the cultural evening with gala dinner.

Paper Submission Guidelines

  1. For full paper submission, author(s) have to use the “MSCMT” platform. Please use the following URL to login to MSCMT account for full paper submission: MSCMT.
  2. In case a login ID is not available, a new account can be created by providing the required details.
  3. Paper submission format (Word + Latex Format) can be found here.
  4. Authors are requested to adhere to the given format for font size, line spacing, indentation, and table design.
  5. The full paper length in the prescribed format should not be more than 10 pages.
  6. There are no restrictions on the number of words, tables, and figures. However, the number of pages is restricted to 10 pages.
  7. The figures should be clear and visible (at least 300 dpi).
  8. All the submitted papers will go through a plagiarism check.

Paper Publication Opportunities

  • 1. Selected high-quality papers presented at the conference will be published in the form of SCOPUS Indexed Conference Proceedings by Springer.
  • 2. Review articles would not be considered for publication unless they conform to the high-quality standards of Springer.
  • 3. Select papers from the conference will be published by Springer as a proceedings book volume.
  • 4. Springer will conduct quality checks on the accepted papers and only papers that pass these checks will be published.
  • 5. Springer Nature does not charge any money for the publication of Non-Open Access content.
  • 6. Abstracts/extended abstracts and short papers (less than 4 pages) will not be considered for publication.
  • 7. Some of the high-quality papers presented in the conference will be considered for possible publication in:
    • a. Special Call on “Integrated Strategies for
      Transportation Engineering, Safety, and Sustainability” in Journal of
      Traffic and Transportation Engineering (English Edition), Elsevier.
  • 8. At least one of the authors of the accepted papers must register and present the paper at the conference to be considered for possible publication.
  • 9. Designate one corresponding author with a contact email.
  • 10. All the recommended papers have to pass through the journal peer review process before acceptance in JTTE.

About Bhopal City

Bhopal is the capital city of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh and the administrative headquarters of both Bhopal district and Bhopal division. It is known as the City of Lakes, due to presence of various natural and artificial lakes near the city boundary. It is also one of the greenest cities in India.

It is the 16th largest city in India and 131st in the world. Bhopal was selected as one of the first twenty Indian cities (the first phase) to be developed as a smart city the Smart Cities Mission. Bhopal was also rated as the cleanest state capital city in India for three consecutive years, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Bhopal has also been awarded a 5-star Garbage Free City (GFC) rating, making it the cleanest State capital in the country in 2023. Bhopal has a strong economic base with numerous large and medium industries operating in and around the city.

Bhopal is considered as one of the important financial and economic destinations in Madhya Pradesh's two strong wealth pillars, the other being Indore. Bhopal's GDP (nominal) was estimated at INR 44,175 crores (2020–21) by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Madhya Pradesh.

A Y-class city, Bhopal houses various educational and research institutions and installations of national importance, including ISRO's Master Control Facility, BHEL and AMPRI. Bhopal is home to many institutes of National Importance in India, namely, IISER, MANIT, SPA, AIIMS, NLIU, IIFM, NIFT, NIDMP and IIIT (currently functioning from a temporary campus inside MANIT).

How to Reach

The institute is in the heart of Bhopal City (the capital of Madhya Pradesh). Bhopal is well known worldwide as the city of Lakes. It is well connected to various parts of the country by road, rail and air. The Institute is located at about 8 km from Bhopal railway station, 6 km from Rani Kamlapati Railway station and 20 km from Airport. Direct taxis and public transit facilities are available.
